Spatial resolution:

CHIRPS: 0.05 deg ~ 5.6 km at equator.

Temporal resolution:

CHIRPS: Dekad, 1 Jan 1981 - Dekad 3, Sep 2020. 1,3,6,9,12 and 24 months with rolling dekad anomaly.

Coverage:

CHIRPS: 50N-23.5S, 60E-180E

Method:

  • Rainfall accumulation calculate using GDAL “gdal_calc.py --calc=expression --outfile=out_filename [-A filename] [--A_band=n] [-B...-Z filename] [other_options]”

  • Long-term statistics (39 years, 1981 - 2019) information calculate using Cell Statistics tools in ArcGIS Spatial Analyst Toolbox.

  • Ratio anomaly calculate using equation: 100 * rainfall / long-term average

  • Difference anomaly calculate using equation: rainfall - long-term average

Unit:

Ratio anomaly: %

Difference anomaly: mm/month.
